Houston Flat Lay Wedding Workshop
This past May, I had the honor of sponsoring stylist Natalie Holland’s flat lay and editorial workshop at The Creative Chateau in Houston, Texas. Filled to the brim with spring florals and fine art details, it was an intimate setting to host a group of top Houston wedding photographers for some editorial magic.
In line with Natalie’s vision, I designed tablescape arrangements, garden-style bouquets, a colorful floral installation, and sourced lots of dainty loose florals. Houston wedding photographer Kaiti Moyers Photography attended the workshop and graciously sent a gallery of highlights to me a few days after. Her images were so beautiful, I had to share!

Local Tip: If you’re not familiar with The Creative Chateau, it’s the only Houston rental studio to feature European design with Old World-inspired finishings—the perfect location to host a flat lay workshop.
Natalie Holland is the owner and Creative Director at Jade Magnolia and came all the way from California to share her styling and design talents with her workshop students.
I had a wonderful time sourcing the most delicate spring flowers for her to style alongside the different invitation suites and stationery she curated for the workshop.
If you’ve been considering attending one of the Jade Magnolia workshops, I promise it’s worth it—Natalie is one of the best editorial stylists around. Take a peek at her gorgeous work below:

In addition to teaching her course on flat lay styling, Natalie enlisted the help of local Houston wedding vendors, including Etoilly Artistry and Courtney Leigh Photo, to produce this stunning bridal portrait editorial for her attendees to photograph.
I built this lush and wildly romantic floral installation based on the colorful inspiration Natalie provided me. I so appreciated having the freedom to design outside the box, and this is easily one of my favorite designs to date. What makes it even more special is that it’s highly seasonal with spring branches and flowering dogwood, which is only available for a very short window every year.
